This award-winning mid-century modern yellow Stackable Dinnerware was designed by the architect-design team Massimo and Lella Vignelli in 1964. Shortly after, the product molds were purchased by the designer Alan Heller, manufactured, and sold in the US. Six months after being introduced in the US, the dinnerware was accepted into the MoMa’s permanent design collection and is still exhibited there today.

The tableware, which exemplifies sixties utilitarian chic style, is made of melamine resin and can be stored in a compact group. The style was originally produced in yellow, and later extended to offer a range of bold colors in the mid-seventies.

Massimo Vignelli, who also designed NYC subway signage AND the Bloomingdale’s Bag, has been quoted saying “If you do it right, it will last forever.”
