Call for Plus Size Artists: Design the Official Nest Plus Size May Shirt

We’re celebrating our first annual Plus Size May at The Nest—and we want you to be part of it. And honestly, we were sitting here thinking what local artist could we reach out to that can encapsulate our celebration of fatness and off the top of our heads we couldn't come up with anyone. So, we are launching this call to work with you! 

We’re officially opening a community call for artists to design our limited-edition Plus Size May T-shirt design. This is your chance to create something bold, funny, joyful, expressive, and rooted in what it means to live, dress, and exist in a plus size body.

You design, we print the design on secondhand merch shirts and sell them at The Nest PVD, NPT, and online throughout the month of May.

Who can apply?
Anyone. Seriously. All backgrounds, all experience levels, all styles. It is a plus, to be plus size ;)

Whether you’re a professional illustrator, a casual doodler, a graphic designer, or someone with a powerful idea—you’re invited.

What we’re looking for:
A one-sided shirt design that celebrates plus size identity in any way that feels true to you. This could be:

• A drawing or illustration

• A graphic design

• A slogan or text-based piece

• A photo or mixed media concept

We’re open to all interpretations—
celebration, resistance, humor, softness, confidence, visibility, sexiness.
If it fits on the front of a shirt, it’s fair game. 

What we’re looking for:

• The design must have both The Nest's name or logo & your name or logo within the design. Download our logos here. 
• The design must also have May 2026 in the design. 

Theme:
Encapsulate the pride, joy, and reality of being plus size.

Bonus (not required): 

• You’re part of The Nest community

• You’re a New England-based artist

What the selected artist receives:

• $200 in cash as a licensing fee

• Free shirts featuring your design

•  Feature on The Nest website + newsletter

•  Promotion across our platforms

• Your design brought to life on secondhand garments

Important note:
If chosen as the winner, you agree that The Nest will have licensing rights to produce and reproduce the winning design on our collection of secondhand shirts, not limited to clothing and for merchandise purposes.
