What to expect:
* Work one-on-one with one of our in-house tailors, Louise Sutton, Carlin Ash, and Julia Medeiros to alter, mend, and create custom clothing.
* All clothing welcome, from your closet, from The Nest, and beyond.
* All clothing must be clean prior to your fitting. Soiled clothing is not eligible for alterations.
* No limit on garments allowed at one fitting. However, more items may extend your pick-up date so we suggest prioritizing what you want altered/repaired first.
* You and your tailor will confirm the pricing for each item before you commit to the service.
* Pickup finished items at The Nest within 1-4 weeks (depending on order quantity, or difficulty of the project).
* Orders can be expedited for an extra charge, if needed!
* Your tailor will give you an estimated pickup date for your order, however this is subject to change, and you will receive an email notification once your order is ready for pickup
* Payment will be processed at pickup

Louise Sutton
Specialties: vintage repairs, custom clothing, bridal & gowns
Louise is a multi-disciplinary industrial stitcher with over 17 years of high-fashion and factory sewing experience. They have sewn everything from costuming for Walt Disney World, to bridal, to leather goods and even a collection for NY fashion week, and clothing for tv/film. Louise is also a sewing teacher, and small batch manufacturer for several local designers.
Louise’s passion lies in creating custom garments and gowns. They focus the majority of their tailoring and alterations work on gender-affirming styles and body-positive fit for women, non-binary, trans, and plus sized folks. They also work on menswear alterations and tailoring. Louise believes that well-fitting clothing is for every body.

Julia Medeiros
Specialties: custom women's ready-to-wear, formal & occasion wear
Julia is a technical apparel designer, and has been a professional sewist for 25 years. She has run her own sewing studios in Ukraine, Portugal, California, and now here in Rhode Island. Julia specializes in almost everything: from custom clothing, to alterations and repairs, to working with drapery and leather.

Carlin Ash
Specialties: visible mending, denim repair, and hand-stitching
Carlin's mission as a tailor is to help people live more sustainably by extending the life of their garments and keeping their favorite clothes in good shape. She has a particular love for helping clients restore or preserve sentimental and well-loved garments.
In addition to tailoring, Carlin is an illustrator and fiber artist with a passion for weaving and embroidery. Her multidisciplinary background helps her bring creative solutions to every garment she works on. Whether it’s darning, embroidered patches, knit repair, denim patching, or sashiko-style reinforcement, Carlin’s got you covered!
