Join our retail teams in Providence and Newport! The Nest is looking for experienced, reliable and passionate candidates to work as retail associates in our stores.
Overview: As a Retail & Sales Associate at The Nest, you'll play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and maintaining the ambiance of our secondhand and vintage stores in Providence and Newport. You'll serve as a brand ambassador, engaging with customers and offering styling advice. Share knowledge about our products and services including our tailoring services, workshops, and events that take place at our Providence location. With a focus on sustainability, you'll contribute to our mission of fighting the toxic cycle of overconsumption and textile waste.
- 1+ years of retail experience, with a focus on sales and customer service.
- Passion for fashion, style, and sustainability, with a strong understanding of trends reflective of The Nest's brand.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate store operations, processes, and initiatives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with peers and leadership, demonstrating a positive and helpful attitude.
- Knowledgeable about our inventory and eager to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to take initiative and make decisions that contribute to the store's success.
- Bonus if you have experience with Shopify and the Google Suite.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods up to 7 hours during store shifts and events
- Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs (e.g., event equipment, merchandise boxes, store displays)
